Larkhall Amateur Film Festival

Want to make a film or write a script? Entries are invited from amateur film-makers and writers of all ages and abilities.

We're looking for short films of 10 minutes and under made by you. Your film could be in any style from a documentary to animation and we'll accept it whether it was shot on your mobile phone, digital camera or even super8. Just set your imagination free. Anything goes as long as it doesn't breach the YouTube (and our) guidelines*.

All films submitted will the shown at the festival. A selection will go on show at a special evening competition film screening and there will be a prize for the best film. If your film is selected for this, we will let you know by Sunday April 25th, 2010.

If you're interested in entering a film to the festival, we'd love to hear from you. We may even be able to offer help and advice if you need it. Just send an email to film@larkhall-festival.org.uk

For film-making tips, we suggest you take a look at the YouTube handbook - www.youtube.com/t/yt_handbook_produce

How to submit your film

Films must be submitted on DVD in quicktime, avi or MP4 format OR on miniDV tape. To submit your film, drop it off in an envelope with a completed entry form to Larkhall Liberal Club.

Films can also be submitted via YouTube by sending a link to your film to film@larkhall-festival.org.uk. However, the festival cannot be held responsible for any resulting loss of quality.

During the Festival...

Your films will be shown on the big screen in the Larkhall Liberal Club on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.

A selection of films will have a special screening at the Liberal Club at a Sunday evening film-night. We'll be creating that cinema experience by adding popcorn, ice-cream and a full bar plus a chance to vote for your favourite film…

*Any films that the organisers feel are in breech of the guidelines, or go against the festival will not be shown. The organisers' decision is final.

To keep up with the festival, please join the festival facebook group. We'll be updating this page too, so make sure you visit again. We can also send you updates by email.
