Festival Guiding Principles

  1. Larkhall festival is a not-for profit, free festival run by the community for the community
  2. All contributions to the festival within the remit of Larkhall Festival Group will be made on a voluntary basis. This will include performances, exhibitions, workshops and all work involved in organising and running the festival
  3. If any organisation, other than Larkhall Festival Group, wants to pay contributors this is a separate arrangement between those two parties and does not set a precedent that affects Larkhall Festival Group
  4. All festival activities will be free at the point of delivery
  5. Larkhall Festival Group will run fundraising activities and events to contribute towards the cost of putting on the festival. It will be made clear (e.g. on publicity material) that these activities are being run for this purpose
  6. If any festival contributor requires expenses (e.g. for materials used in running a workshop) then they will need to make this clear at the earliest opportunity. These expenses will either be;
    1. Paid by Larkhall Festival Group. In order for this to be considered the request must be made at least two months before the date of the activity.
    2. Borne by those participating in the activity. This fact must be stated in advance through appropriate publicity material.
  7. Potential contributors to the festival will be prioritised on the following basis:
    • First priority will be given to those who live within the area of benefit
    • Second priority will be given to those who work or take part in activities within the area of benefit.
  8. All contributors to the festival are deemed to be of equal value
