Larkhall Cocktail Competition 2011
Friday 15th April 7.30pm

The Evening was bubbling with locals, a few James Bond villains and cocktail music at the Larkhall Athletic Football Club

The punters voted for their favourite concoction with betting chips and the winning drink was Bladud's Folly created by Andy Rixon. Well Done Andy!

The winning formula was as follows:

Bladud’s Folly 
Southern Comfort - shot,
Cointrau - dash
Ginger ale
Slice fresh orange
Pig shaped ice cube
Umbrella
Mix alcoholic ingredients and top up with ginger ale and add the other stuff.

"According to some scholars, before the unfortunate body parts incident, King Bladud - resident of Swainswick (Larkhall being part of the kingdom of Swainswick) liked nothing better than an evening in with this very orangey drink. Perfect for a cold mayday at the Larkhall Festival"

The runners up were Piglini by Nurse McRoberts and A Taste of Sunday by John Mills

Following the submission of an array of Larkhallian-inspired cocktails, the Larkhall Festival Group would now like to invite you to the James Bond themed Cocktail Competition Evening to raise money for the Larkhall Festival. 

When - Friday 15th April, from 7:30pm 
Where - Larkhall Athletic Football Club

Dressing up as a Bond Character is optional, but sampling and voting for your favourite Larkhall-inspired cocktail is something not to be missed!

Tickets are £5 available from Emma's Café,  Rose and Crown Pub & Bladud's Head. 

All profits go to Larkhall Festival.

Hurry as they are selling, otherwise you'll be after-shocked!!

Tasting Evening at the Bladud's Head

A panel of Larkhallians will be tasting the entries in the Bladud's Head in the lounge on Wednesday 13th April at 7pm

What is it?

The Larkhall Cocktail Competition is your chance to create a spectacular, delicious, original Larkhall-inspired cocktail. The winning cocktail will be served at participating venues throughout the Larkhall festival weekend.

Your cocktail can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic and must have some connection to Larkhall. This could be through its name, the choice of ingredients or a description of what aspect of Larkhall inspired it.

How do I enter?

To enter the competition, you will need to submit your Larkhall-inspired cocktail invention by using one of the following methods...

• Online entry form, available below
• Download the submission word doc or complete a printed entry form available at Emma’s Cafe. Both of which can be handed in at the Cafe.

Deadline for entries: Midnight 2nd April 2011
due to public demand its been pushed to 4th April Midnight Monday

What are the rules?

• You must be aged 18yrs or over to enter
• Only entries submitted on a competition entry form will be accepted
• Cocktails can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic
• Cocktail recipes must not specify branded products, and all ingredients must be available for purchase locally in Bath
• Entries will be ranked and judged on their connection with Larkhall

How will the cocktail be judged?

• Entries will be shortlisted by a panel of Larkhallian judges to produce five finalists
• Shortlisting judges cannot guarantee to taste all drinks, so finalists may be shortlisted on criteria of name, relevance to Larkhall, description etc
• The shortlisting judges decision is final.
• Cocktails selected will then be judged at the Final by public vote
• The winning cocktail will then be served at participating Larkhall venues throughout the festival weekend

How can I attend the Final?

• The Final will take place at a James Bond Themed Cocktail Tasting Evening on Friday 15 April 2011 at the Larkhall Athletic Football Club
• Tickets will cost £5 and will be available from Emma’s Cafe from Monday 4 April 2011
